Jersey Shore Vacation on a Budget: Part Two

The Jersey Shore can be a fun, affordable destination for your family vacation or summer day trips. While you can certainly find ways to spend money quickly, you can also be frugal. We want to give you a few ideas of how you might have some summer fun without going broke (if you missed our first Jersey Shore Vacation on a Budget blog post, be sure to check it out for more cost-saving options):

  • Atlantic City Aquarium: In comparison to other national aquariums, the Atlantic City Aquarium at the Historic Gardner’s Basin is an inexpensive way to have close encounters with some really cool creatures. The aquarium has a variety of exhibits; animals include everything from the Motoro Ray to the Chocolate Chip Sea Star. Adults cost $8 a person; children ages 4 to 12 are $5 each. Kids under age 3 have free admission. The Atlantic City Aquarium is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with the exception of major holidays.
  • Blackbeard’s Cave: A family entertainment center, Blackbeard’s Cave offers many family activities at a reasonable price. From archery to euro-bungy to go-karts, you can pick and choose your fun based on your budget. A good idea might be to buy one of their Value Books of tickets, and then evenly distribute the tickets amongst your family. Blackbeard’s Cave is only about an hour’s ride in your car rental from Value Van & Car Rental.
  • Cape May County Park and Zoo: Open daily year-round, the Cape May County Park features everything from outdoor recreation, 100 different animals species, and even concerts in the park. The best part? Admission is free.
