The Cherry Blossom Festival

This is the 38th annual festival to be held in honor of the cherry trees at Branch Brook Park. Several events take place throughout the course of the festival.

• Bloomfest: This free event takes place on April 13 and is a day for the family to enjoy together. There will be Japanese cultural demonstrations, children’s activities, live music, food, and more. Operating hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Cherry Blossom 10K Run: This race will take place on April 6 at 10 a.m. Pre-registration fees are $22, and if you sign up on the day of the race, it’s $25. It’s a unique experience to run through the historic cherry groves in New Jersey throughout the race. A portion of the proceeds are donated to benefit the Special Olympics.
• Cherry Blossom Challenge: Annual Bike Race: This bike race is on April 5, with races starting at intervals between 7 a.m. and 12 p.m. The cost is $30-$35 depending upon the category of your race. Imagine seeing some of the most beautiful trees in the world throughout the duration of your ride. You’ll forget you’re even racing!
