Things To Do:

Spruce Run Recreation Area is New Jersey’s third largest reservoir and covers 1,290 acres. With that much space and 15 miles of shoreline, it’s easy to see why Spruce Run makes a great venue for outdoor exploration.

Hiking is a very popular activity at Spruce Run. Highlands Millennium Trail, the park’s largest trail, is .91 miles long. Though it isn’t the longest trail on the planet, Highlands Millennium Trail is perfect for jogging, biking, or a leisurely jaunt through the woods.

Camping is another infinitely enjoyable activity at Spruce Run. From April through October, campgrounds are open for your enjoyment. Campsites found at Spruce Run come with picnic tables, fire pits, and restrooms with showers.

Spruce Run’s beach complex is open from Memorial Day until Labor Day. Necessary beach amenities like lifeguards, changing areas, showers, restrooms, and concession stands can all be found at the beach.

Some picnic areas at Spruce Run Recreation Area can hold up to 225 people, so don’t hesitate to bring your big, boisterous family for a day of outdoor fun. Contact the park to reserve a picnic shelter.

The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset with office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
